WELL Buildings – Transforming buildings and communities to help people thrive

Building methods and design have transformed in the last 10 years to reduce the environmental impact caused by construction. This has mainly been achieved through established organisations such as LEED (US) and BREEAM (UK) which has been incredibly successful.

Research has shown that more can be done to improve the well-being of occupants through good design and planning, which until more recently has not been standardised by uniformly recognised bodies. Working alongside existing environmental organisations, the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) is a global organisation whose mission is ‘to transform our buildings and communities in ways that help people thrive’ by awarding construction projects with WELL Certification – the gold standard for advancing health and well-being in buildings.

As chartered surveyors working with a diverse range of property types we are committed to supporting excellence in sustainable design, understanding building life cycle and costs, and the impact that spaces have on people’s health. We are developing our own WELL Building service line to cater for all commercial project types internationally on both new and existing buildings. The WELL service line will be managed by qualified in house WELL Accredited Professionals (WELL APs) who have the expertise to assist project owners, designers and contractors in achieving Silver, Gold or Platinum certification. Watch this space and keep updated for our full service announcement in Summer 2020.
