The transport sector is constantly changing and improving, which means much of our work is in Contract Administration/Project Management, dilapidations, condition surveys, planned preventative maintenance, and development monitoring. Healthcare
Our healthcare experience stems from one of our first projects, The Royal Hospital Chelsea – a retirement home and nursing home for some 300 veterans of the British Army. By their very nature, healthcare buildings bring their own challenges from Grade I listed sites to construction delivery, where patients or residents are in occupation.
Healthcare projects also have inherent financial challenges, this together with balancing the needs of stakeholders can put pressure on decision makers. This is where our role as surveyors plays its part, from producing realistic planned preventative maintenance programmes to undertaking condition surveys and project managing major refurbishments within tight timescales and budgets. Healthcare tenants also require dilapidations services which we have provided in the past.
Our clients include Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MRHA), Duchy of Cornwall, Cambridge University Spec Savers as well as private building owners associated with healthcare buildings.

We offer building surveying services for residential property owners such as private investors, housing associations and freehold groups. Our involvement focusses on project management and design of planned works to common parts, refurbishment works to assist with lettings, statutory works (such as fire door replacement and cladding works) and due diligence required for sale / purchase of large freeholds. We represent public authorities, housing associations, property management firms, and a number of private funds; always ensuring that various stakeholders (freeholders, leaseholders, and tenants) are respected throughout the process.
Since the tragedy of Grenfell, the importance of fire safety has become paramount to residential blocks. Our specialist project managers successfully deliver major schemes to replace defective cladding on behalf of freeholders and groups requiring urgent works. It is important for financial forecasting and service charge budgets to plan ahead when carrying out works to common areas, such as cladding and external decorations. We are able to forecast, and plan works in advance by producing Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules for our clients and complete the works with our project management and contract administration professionals using the JCT suite of contacts and provide a recommendation for a suitable contractor from our extensive network.
We only offer residential due diligence surveys for commercial clients which usually form an investment freehold interest, not for private homeowners. Our clients include Hastoe Group, Valore Real Estate, LRM, Knight Frank and Argent, to name a few.
Education
We have experience working on broad range of education projects including new build and refurbishment works nationwide, where the key objectives include meeting government and environmental targets.
As well as project work, our professional services team have been undertaking professional instructions on school and university buildings from recently constructed facilities to complex building types such as Grade listed sites and heavily dilapidated sites.
Examples of projects include our work at Newbury College where we were Contract Administrator on a new build extension, providing a state-of-the-art engineering laboratory and at Southampton University where we undertook the pre-acquisition survey of an existing tower block to ensure the were no significant risks ahead of purchase.
