HartDixon provided expertise in leading a large multi-disciplined team for the comprehensive refurbishment of IP Club at the Royal Hospital Chelsea – a Grade I listed building (Architect: Sir Christopher Wren). The IP Club is the social and restaurant facility for the Chelsea Pensioners, including lounges, bar, restaurant and associated amenity and welfare; and works included the complete refurbishment of the entire building including significant internal structural alteration works to improve the layout and interconnectivity/accessibility of the building, taking in the primary consideration that the building is used by the elderly and infirm.
The building was refurbished to the very highest standard, with bespoke finishes, FF&E and MEP installation throughout, which were thoroughly in keeping with the history of the building, as well as coordinated with the requirement of the hospital (including the Chelsea Pensioners themselves) and all statutory and property stakeholders.
HartDixon is known for acting as a credible and excellent project lead. We will manage the team, administer the works both practically and financially to completion.
Stuart founded HartDixon in 2008. A Chartered Building Surveyor for over 20 years, he specialises in project management. Stuart works primarily on private sector projects, ranging from large mixed use Central London cut and carve schemes to out-of-town new build industrial sheds. Before HartDixon, Stuart had started up and ran the London Commercial Building Consultancy office for the Frankham Consultancy Group. Before that he worked for DTZ on commercial projects and building surveying services.
